TA exhaust tip question. replicas

Ive been struggling with whether or not to just buy some replica exhaust tips. I cant stand the stock ones anymore. Does anyone have experience with these ones from ebay. They are so much cheaper than the TA ones and look pretty much the same to me. Should I go for it?

Like I said before, you get what you pay for.

True usually, but can you say anything specifically about these tips or knock off tips in general?? I dont mind paying extra for something if it is worth it.

I bought one and didn't like how they did the welding.

It could either way...especially buying them off ebay. The guy has good feedback/rating, and he's been around a while. I've spoken to him, but never bought.

If they're no good after some use 2 bills isn't the end of the world...

I'm looking to upgrade to the dual tips myself and these are priced attractively. I'm new to Porsche ownership and am well aware of the adage that "you have to pay to play" but the general markup on OEM and brand name parts for these cars is simply ridiculous! $600 for exhaust tips - c'mon are these made of solid sterling silver or what?

Hey rwm, what do think of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

Looks closer in design to the OEM look. Let me know which ones you do decide to get. Thanks.

Those look good. I am leaning towards the TA design though, looks more aggressive.

I bought the same exhaust tips and they are of good quality. Mine were a different Ebay seller but the photos were the same. I have had no problem with them and they installed fine. I also had a problem with spending close to $600 on factory tips.

Sorry about the immediate repost but I bought the other ones, NOT the Schnell tips. I did not like the way the Schnell ones have a split pipe where the clamps squeeze the split pipe on the tip over the muffler pipe. The other ones fit my Fabspeed perfectly!
