Joe - I would LOVE to do something like that. If not for the competition, but for the inevitable fun and comraderie.

But if it happens, is there any way we can make it Spring of next year? I won't be back in the states until early March.

It was 79 degrees and I was running 1.3 Bar, Mark. I'll turn her up to 1.4 next time.

No problem.

Let's go to ATCO...we'll both run deep in the 9's there

I will ask GRussell, but I guarantee you it won't sway me from Ruf to EVO. I already know what mind numbing acceleration is like... I had the first Protomotive 996 Turbo, remember?

Different strokes for different folks. I like power coupled with reliability and refinement. For that, Ruf is unbeatable. I guarantee you their packages are more reliable in the long-term than any other tuner, and that's important to me.

If I simply wanted the fastest 911 Turbo out there for straight line, Protomotive would still be my choice, NO DOUBT about that whatsoever. IMHO, none of the GIAC-based tuners have anything that would be competitive with Alex D's car.

I am not trying to sway you to anything, just giving my opinion of the car. I too, my friend have driven some pretty high HP cars, including ones that are north of 1600hp, and to me the GT700 GT2 is the best all around performance package out there.

If a car makes 600 hp, it makes 600 HP. If RUF claims 550, and turns a time similar to other 550 HP cars...that's exactly how much power it's making, regardless of dyno#'s.

How about this; since you're the one making the claim...prove to me that the majority of Euro tuned cars are verifiably faster than US tuned cars of the same rated HP.

I'll pit my claimed 700 HP US tuned car against *any* 700 HP claimed Euro tuned car.
Scott I agree with you but good luck trying to argue that US tuners are just as good as Euro tuners This has been going on forever!

Joe have you ever added up all the HP in your sig? Sorry to change the subject but dayummmm.

I still think that the GT700 consistently hits the 10 second mark in the 130s and there are guys in NorCal tracking them every other weekend on the roadcourse as well as daily driving them. No issues either. What could be better proof of a good packadge than that? The power-band is superb in that kit. Comes on so strong and so early....

Tyson, in the first shoot out, I would say although the car was very fast I think it was also the most laggy (other than Buddy G's- when the hoses stayed on lol!) according to Cort Wagner etc... Kinda like my car is right now- it's got some decent lag to it but the 700s really don't seem to be laggy at all looking at the curves and judging by what people have done and said (there are a lot of them out there- some that we've done obviously).

I know todd used gt30rs mixed with kkks.... water cooled if Im not mistaken... there is always a trade off with HP and lagg..... more lag more HP... less HP less lag...
Doesnt the gt700 use gt30r( parts of it at least) garrett turbos?
Or are they the gt28s? If so then the smaller turbo will spool up faster...
Looking at the trapps of a gt700 and Scotts set up... it seems that they both trap 135 mph... ( not taking any temps into account....) however, one person ran a 10 In florida a few months ago I recall.. in a silver TT... but Im not sure what the temp was?

Alexander trapped higher then 140 mph... that I know...

well he did considerably higher then 140.. I just don't want to say it without his permission.... he called me form the track when he did it... but then with out proof we dont have it and I have been busting him for not posting.... Problem is some guys choose not to and I understand why.
for example, I took my evo to the track and ran 10.2 and now no one wants to race me...

It will be interesting to see what song the Euro Snobs are singing 12 - 24 months once EVO gets some penetration over there. I hope the local distributor pumps out a ton of 700 kits. Maybe Todd will be entering a car in that annual Euro Tuner competition????? That will take care of all the speculation.

Hey Mark,

10.2 is INCREDIBLE!!!! especially for a DD!!!

Im only asking about Alexanders car because there has been a lot of arguing lately about tuners and such... i think if something was posted to substantiate it, it would be of great help in these discussions....

and i believe that you are one of the true enthusiasts out there and im sure you will agree...

Yes, I am so sure Manthey Racing, RS Tuning, and Ruf are shaking in the knees.

I don't think EVO stuff is even TUV approved, meaning that you aren't even allowed to sell that stuff or use it on the road in Germany! That's why it's going to England, where there is no such regulation.

I also would be curious to see how EVO's car would do in the Tuner Grand Prix, or even what a GT700 does around the Ring.

Personally, I don't think the top euro tuners have much to lose sleep over.
