Lowering My Baby
get something adjustable...it will make your life easier as time goes on. Motons, JIC/Cross, PSS9, Techart, etc. All will take the same amount of labor to install and leave you up/down and dampening adjustments external on the car. bottom line...springs are good for ballers on a budget, but not the best solution.

I thought the poster asked the question re suspension lowering for under 1K? there are no other opinions other than the springs for that cost. of course the car will not handle correctly, but if just plain street driving it will still be "ok"
youre right, he did...but like most of these threads...it wandered. I agree with your summation on handling and personally i dont think there are any options under $1K. With the cost of springs, add in labor and alignment, you exceed $1K already.

Thanks for the responses. You guys certainly know your stuff.
I'm not looking for a suspension to track, just want to lower the car. Price isn't really the big factor so much as it is not screwing up the car. (I can go over $1,000 if staying under $1,000 screws up the ride).
If I'm only driving the roads, want to lower the car for looks and don't want to screw up the handling, will using lowering springs screw up the handling dramatically so I shouldn't even bother - if I want to lower the car (07 997 x51) should I just go and do the Motons, JIC/Cross, PSS9, Techart options?
Patience is a virtue I guess.....

For what it's worth I had the Cargraphic H&R coilovers installed a week ago...they're coming off today for the pss9's...the ride was BRUTAL for street driving. On smooth roads they're were fun, but god help you if you hit a pothole (hey it's LA, you can't avoid them all). I'll let youu know what the difference is in 2 days.
For the record MEqwkr did warn me

Any thoughts on these? Are they worthless or should I push him to install aftermarket?

. You know how it is with the MOD-BUG. We upgrade because there is an upgrade available. You should be able to get a good set of used JICs that will be an excellent upgrade from stock. Put the word out and be patient. You should be able to get a set for a real good price.
I had Eibach springs on my C2. It looked great! I tracked the car though, and after a while the springs were not doing so well. I was bottoming-out a lot. So...if you're not tracking the car, it's a cost effective way to go. If you think you're going to track it at some point, wait until you can afford coil-overs.
Ok, got the car back yesterday with Pss9's and sway bars (I know, definately over $1000
)......I love it!..the car is tight as a drum, but doesn't kill you on the bumps, and with the sway bars the only limitations with traction are the tires, no body roll. I have the ride setting almost as soft as they can go.
