what's the major difference between RUF & BILSTEIN coilovers?

comfirmed with Weissach with their RUF kit for my C4S for $3,600. well, i have Bilstein kit waiting to be installed for $2,300. what's the exact difference between them that'd make $1,300 apart?

Weissach said my set up will be the same one on TT, while Gert ((www.carnewal.com), where i got my Bilstein from) has different parts for TT and C4S. which one is true?

thanks for clearing my mind

this from Gert:

"We sell the Bilstein PSS-9 kit.
Ruf has bought the same shocks and springs from Bilstein but with different valvings and spring rates.
I also believe that they use different spring tops ."

20C4S asked what/why the difference in the $1,300 cost. I believe that one of the differences in cost is that the RUF includes the rear bar and the Bilstein does not. It is available for additional $$$, meaning they are closer in price than $1,300, although the RUF would still end up being considerably more expensive. Also, I am not sure if import duty is paid by Carnewal, either. If not, this would account for a few more dollars.

Gert sells it three ways:

w/out stabilizers - $1995 Euro
w/ rear only - $2175 Euro
w/ both ft and rear - $2395

Any of the three options comes with shipping included which more than offsets any duties paid.

I believe Ruf's is $3050 Euro w/ the rear bar - plus shipping

Asgar is infamous around these parts
The RUF company has special arrangments with many manufacturers and they will produce items as per their specifications,
with regards to the sport suspensions, they real differances are not minimal, an extensive R&D is conducted on RUF powered cars that evaluate the optimum driving set ups at differant speeds and road conditions.

our exclusive usage of a rear adjustable swaybar is a RUF trick and works only as a homoginized unit. we have found the perfect balance in the wonderful world of Porsche oversteer.

If any of you have met Mr Ruf, you would understand better his pursuit of being the best, They have never wanted to compromise quality for price.

regards

The Ruf kit, which I recently installed on my TT, also includes new droplinks for the front.
