Maybe resolving the 2nd gear issue's....

I have seen numerous posts about 2nd gear "popping" on the turbo's.

My 2001 ; over time had a slightly more difficult 2nd gear, no popping out of gear but it would be hard to shift out of 2nd.

During my recent upgrade to a Stage 3 clutch, I also had the master and slave cylinders changed and the difference is tremendous.

Due to the difficulty in accessing the master clutch cylinder, I expect that most people shy away from it. It also does not appear to be a robust items (actually looks like a cheap plastic part that should belong on a lawn mower .....)

I would seriously recomend looking at this first as it seems to have cured my difficult second gear issue.

Hi:

Would you please describe better the master and slave clutch cylinders and I can seem to visualize these items.

Thanks in advance

If you've never had the 2nd gear popping issue, your problem may have been somewhat different. My car is having the transmission replaced for popping out of 2nd and that seems to be the consensus fix for this. A difficult 2nd gear sounds more like a synchro issue to me. Either way, glad to know your drivetrain is now better than ever!
