New Cadillac CTS-V
New Cadillac CTS-V
Hey guys
Since most of you seem to enjoy fast 4 doors - M5 and STi - I was curious on what you guys think of the new Cadillac CTS that is coming out. Apparently has a 5.8L V8, Brembo Brakes, and a 6 speed transmission. Any of you interested in one?
THanks

I like it a lot and am a big Cadillac fan. My dad has had 2 STSs and a Deville DTS and all of them were awesome cars, very plush and very American. Here's a pic I snapped at the L.A. auto show, I wish I could buy one but don't have the funds...
I like the G-force meter too. Other than that, Caddy's blow in my opinion. GM just has such a long way to go.
The performance numbers on it are very good, I know, but the interiors on those things make me want to laugh. That center console looks like someone just said, "Oh ****... we need a console... shove this thing in there."
I will say at least Caddy is doing something to get over the stigma of blue hair and lowering their average age buyer. (They're currently at 55 and Buick is at 60 the two highest in the industry)
I'd still get an Audi S4 or an M3 first. The S4 will blow doors on that Caddy and it looks a lot nicer inside and out IMO.

I'm not a cadillac fan, but this model will blow the doors off of the M3 S4 M5 etc...Doesn;t mean I would buy one but must give respect to its performance, also handling tuned at nurburgring by Gm's German leg at Opel.
I like the CTS-V. I think it is a great value for $50k. Cadillac is definately going in the right direction but needs more work. The CTS seems to be too small for a 5 series, but too large for a 3 series competitor. It will be interesting to see how that car performs.

Give Cadillac some props man. This CTS V will hang with an M5 for $30,000.00 less out of your pocket book. I think Cadillac has become a pretty sweet division starting with the Escalade, then the XLR, now the CTS V and soon the new Seville STS.
You go Caddy!

We are thinking about picking one up...the wife really likes them alot. Only thing I dont like about them is...here in Florida....most you see on the road are driven by the elderly. The car does look really nice, and different than the norm, but you see so many on the road its not very differnet. Does that make since.
I'm not it's faster around a track than the S4.
The times around the 'ring that I saw had the S4 faster than the M3 and the CTS-V.
I know it is in a straight line, but aren't we Porsche people the ones who "don't care about just straight line performance"?
And it's still a blue hair car IMO.

i'm glad caddy is making a move out of the geriatric crowd and think this car is a step in the right direction. I also think that in a few years they will be seriously competing (as will other American cars) with the euro crowd. Cadillac was the King of the Road for a reason. Problem is that was 30+ years ago and this is now. Props to GM for trying new things out. Also, as a former mustang cobra owner, I think ford may be following suit. we'll have to see about their new supercar; sound good but i'd like to wait a year or so and see what folks think.
The CTS-V should hang with S4, M3 and E39 M5 in street/track conditions with driver skill level probably being the score-settler. It is fast with the Z06 block, has good brakes and handles pretty well from what I've read. Caddy always seems to make some kind of mistake with every car they bring. The most recent example being pricing the XLR too high and NOT offering a manual, and ONLY offering the CTS-V in a manual. Probably a decent ride in looking at the price/value/performance equation.
