wow those turbos look good

mani've a;wyas thought that the turbo ugrades changes the system to an external waste gate ... wowo didint think it was still an internal wastegate.. but tsill the turbos are killer... the turbo on my wife's a4 is sooo puny compared to yout new turbo luting...

i have a question are the turbo exhaust and intake lines, and manifolds extrude honed? or somoothed out..?

has anyone extrude honed them? i know that if you have them smoothed out the response on the turbos will be better and if the surface is smooth air will pass it quickly and smoothly (no pun intended)

wow i can only imagine owing a TT , but haveing a modded TT that would be heaven

I cant wait to see your yellowy ducky on the 7th meet luting ... wow it looks great....

yea I know every time I stop buy EVOMS Todd has a set of those turbos either being shiped or sitting in display. Very large twin turbo setup compared to the stock Turbos. THe headers also look very sweet. Good luck with the upgrade.

Joe:
I didn't upgrade the gt2 intercooler... I think it's not cost effective to get them... the gain is around 5%...and less than 10%...

I believe the Race gas program runs 1.5 bar...
i'm not sure about the GT (91 octane program)...

Todd or Stephan, Can either of you answer this for us???'
What boost does the GT program running? I hope it's not too high... or else I'll be pumping 100 Gas all the time...

Luting,

You really should invest in upgraded intercoolers. The benefit is not only for powergains, but for enhanced cooling of the charged air, which will increase the life of your turbos and other parts.

'02barebones996-- if you want external wastegates, you have to go to Stage 5. Those are for the real big boy Garretts.

wow man 1.5 bar yeah tht rocks.. i used to run 20-22lbs of boost on my old 87 supra.. i upgrade it to a single TO4E unit with an HKS external wastegate.. i loved to haul in that if i power shift the rear end usually slides and the back end would go sideways, id correct it and mash on the gas.. ..that was fun...

hehe so the set-up that luting is getting isn't even the very large turbo's wow.... I thought they were the large ones already from the pics that were posted ...

i need to take a ride in a 911 turbo ... so that i can convince my wife taht i need one too..

I can hear it now... yes babe i need a 996 TT with upgraded turbos and i/c so that i wont be late for work, we can also leave later, bec. the car gets us there faster lol...

yes i agreew ith wilber that an i/c upgrade is esssential for a upgraded turbos due to the increase in heat on the exhaust sid eof things. a larger turbo will give your car more effiency and cooler air into to the intake side of the turbos

I guess I'll have Wilber build me an I/C later... even before I upgrade the internal engine...
Use something like what Wilber has used on his protomotive...

02barebones, Stage 5 is using dual T04B's.

The Protomotive car uses dual T04E's which are even more efficient.

Hence the need for the Tial external wastegates and custom IC's.

We need Sharky to chime in here....How do Luting's headers compare to Sharky's??
What if one to coat Luting/4 GT headers with ceramic etc...Which would be better?

I am supposed to get the GT2 by Monday or Tuesday, just doing the last bits of the title transfer, etc.

The best part about the setup is that the system makes boost at around 2500rpm's, by 3000-3500, it makes full boost. It's a very efficient, low lag system-- much of that is due to the amazing programming done by Todd @ Protomotive.

Wilber has a lot of experience with import racing. That's why he was able to build a system that was so efficient. You can thank his knowledge of the superfast Supras, 300ZX's, Skyline's etc. that gave him the inspiration. It even runs twin Blitz blow off valves.

That being said, the Stage 4GTR is an excellent value for the money.

I think Blitz or HKS blow off valves are in order for the GT2. It will be the world's first true ricer style GT2.
