Thanks. We are currently waiting for the block to to be reinforced. Engine should be assembled in a couple of weeks. Valves are from TRW. It has been a long wait.

Hey EL,
For those of us that are new to your project, can you give a short blurb on what you are doing to the engine and who is helping you do it? Thanks.

Base car is a TT. I have the GT-2 front and rear spoiler 19 Ruff Rims H&R coilovers, B&M short shift, 8 piston brakes. I had upgraded to about 470 RWHP at 1.2-1.3 bar a year ago. Now we are going for some more power again. So we are changing cams, larger valves modified heads, new pistons and liners, throttle body, oil pump, injectors 650cc new fuel pump in tank and added an external 400l/h at 5bar fuel line. New modified turbos with titanium 48mm wheel. Block had to be reinforced in the same way they used to do 965 to avoid micromovement. Since we are not going above 7200rpm and maintaining the variocam we are going for reinforced rods not titanium until now at least. We are adding water spray to intercoolers and will try some other tricks to see if they work. Tranny has been completely redone with a lot of racing parts from GT3-RS. Car should produce 600+RWHP at 1.25bar. Work is done at TTP. www.t-t-p.de. Not trying to make a drag/race car. This is a daily(weekend) drive. Just need something to try to keep up with my "wife's"Skyline1000bhp+

Looks like your project is coming along well. Please keep us updated on what the car ends up turning out for power.

luting,

Car has been in Germany since November. The block has caused some great delay. It should be completed by the end of February.

Beautiful parts. Are you using the GT3 heads? Any idea of the cam specs VS stock?

ebaker,

The GT-3 heads do not support variocam, so we modified the stock heads to aprox GT-3 geometry. I was also told that the Turbo heads are made stonger. We are keeping the variocam in order not to loose low end torque. I don't have the cam specs yet, I should have them next week.

EL750,

Sounds like a great project. I have some questions, please that them in the spirit of cooperation as not disrespect is intended at all.

You stated,

this is true on the GT3R head, not on the GT3 Cup head. The Cup head uses hydralic lifters not solid lifters like the GT3R head. The valves on the Cup heads are approx. 5 mm larger than the turbo heads and the GT3R valves are only one and two mm's larger than the Cup heads. The other difference being the Cup valves are stainless while the GT3R heads are titanium.

Your engine sounds like it is really being built well. I don't understand all the internal work for 600 hp. What did TTP say the reason for this was?

Do you know who is manufacturing the 650 cc injectors. Same question for the in tank fuel pump.

Best of luck with your project.

Chad,

I appreciate your comments. First I would like to state that I don't not have the extended knowlage that you have had with your project. I am only familliar with the GT3R head. I will ask about TTP about the cup . Our vlaves were made by TRW from neumatic steel. As far as internal work goes I had visited several tuners in Germany among them Mr. Ruf and had some feedback regarding the rods. They told me that the stock rods would bend above 780-800nm. So as a precaution we are changing those. We should be making around 900NM of torque. I really don't know how much power we are going to end up with. All I know that it going to be above 600rwh. I had spoken to RC enginneering about their injectors but they are about 1cm taller than stock and the fuel rail must be elevated accordingly. T-T-P said that that would be a tight squeeze and was able to find 650 high impendence from Germany that are not available to the public. Internal and external pumps are from Bosch. The other route would be to go for a 12 injector system that is availlable from Sportec as far as I have been told. Thanks again for your input.

Chad,

We are also changing the drive chain. There have been a few cases with broken chain in modified GT-2's I will post pics of reinforced block when it returns this week. I would like to know what you think about it.
