they work parallel to each other instead of in series... so one does not push boost into the other....

Correct me if I am wrong, but Supras and RX-7's came standard with sequential turbocharging where one turbo would spool quickly at low RPM and then the second turbo would join in or takeover at higher loads and RPM. Turbo Porsches are true twin turbo set ups where both turbos are working together all the time...not in sequence.

so... Bi-turbo = Twin turbo
Both turbos working together all the time and the size are the same
Each turbo for 3 cyclinders

For example; the Audi B5 S4 and C5 2.7T are called "biturbo" cars, but have two turbos that make boost at the same time...just like the Porsche's twin-turbos.
As Cleve said; you're thinking of "sequential turbos".

thanks again!
Hypothetically could you put four turbo's on a 911? Put huge turbo's like GT40's which usually have horrid lag but then hit like cannons, then smaller turbo's ahead of them that will spool faster. I know quad turbo's have been used in the past on other makes. Can they be used on P-cars?
