Zippy, are you running that tire set up at the track with no problem? And does it make a difference?

I have the same tire setup and have no problems (only slight rubbing on the rear plactic inner liner).

as far as if makes a difference, I have no idea since I have not run the TOYO's in a different size ......

Have not rolled the fenders...

My wheels are a little different though (9" front and 11.5 rear", with a 5mm spacer in front to clear the Brembo GTR's).

One other thing, on a steep uphill sweeper with the front tires loaded on compression while braking (steering cranked to the right), you may experience a "slight" rubbing on fender liner too. Probabaly due to my lowered ride height.

I like You! Tom, with enough bending of steel and melting/reshaping of plastic, they fit like a dream!

Do not want to hijack but it is sort of relevent. I want to fill guards as much as possible but still clearing bodywork and liners with as much wheel /tyre as possible-- so my question is this-- laying a straight edge(horizontally) across the centreline of wheel/tyre and then measuring to the back of the wheel surface(where wheel contact is made with hub) What is the measurementfront and rear? What is measurement from visual outer guard to tyre sidewall? How much camber(approx)? How much lower than stock? My car is to be used for street/road car with occasional track use. I want to order wheels and are trying not to make a mistake and I figure there are likely to be a few here that have solved this precise problem.

I'm now convinced I want to go with wheels that are GT2 specs and put those big RA1s on. I wouldn't even have to worry about switching them back and forth since RA1 is fine for street tires (not a daily driver).

I just need to find the right wheels if I am going this route since I'd like something with a little more flash than stock wheels for the street.

A friend has suggested getting CCW wheels (very reasonably priced and I can get the black centers with polished lip that I would like). I really like the look of the HRE C20 (black center and polished lip) but they're very pricey.

Any other suggestions?

The RA1's are fine for street use and more durable than I expecetd.

Someone was selling a set of used Kinesis rims in GT2 size a while ago (black centers too). May want to try the search function.

With KINESIS sold to Lexani, out choices for 18" wheels just got reduced ....

However, I just ordered a set of HRE C20 in GT2 wheel size/offset (customized to clear my GTR brakes) from Sharkwerks..... (and these are not reverse drop centers so there should not be issues with water collecting in the barrel and causing vibration issues...)

Buy a set of GT2 wheels and have them painted black or yellow.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Were there different offsets between the GT2 and the 996TT? I don't want to use spacers, etc.

Thanks in advance for the help.

They do fit - might need to roll the fenders but I think Duane did that already.

Wanna sell me those HRE's?

Rears need to be rolled & plastic inner fender liners need to be heat gunned and flattened back. MPSC or PS2s are easier to fit. If you have a good jack, air socket and heat gun you are set. This job can easily be done at home.
Zippy- Quick question about using the heat gun. From what you indicate, just remove the wheel and then start heating the plastic inner fender liners. Do they warp a certain way or do you have to push them out? Do you heat it from the inside of the wheel well or from the 'outside'.
