Yes,sad but true.

Most folks especially the old ones who drove Porsche for over 20 years don´t like the 996.

I like the current 996 head light design,it looks aggresive and sporty.

I think the 997 with the 996 head lights were the perfect deal.

cheers,

The new 997 looks like the beattle how the Chayanne looks to the Toureg(sp?).

These two companies are becoming more and more brother and sister then a close friend. I think it sucks. I guess it's getting hard for Porsche to compete with the giants.

I think the 997 looks closer to the 964. Which other than turboed model was not a great looking vehicle. I think retro sucks. Very seldom do vehicle manufactuers pull off retro succesfully (i.e. ford thunderbird). Keep the product evolving that is the key. It would have been nicer to see more CGT in the 997.

Well, I agree with just about everybody here stating that designing a retro look is a step back for the car. I love the turbo headlamps and I think that the only problem with the 996 lamps was that they were the same as the boxter's. We are on a 996 board and I wonder what the 993 folks are saying? I do know that quite a few people who've owned p-cars for years just don't get the 996. In fact a neighbor of mine who's owned several 911's, opted for a z8 about a year ago (big mistake imho). I have owned a Porsche for about 4 months now and have clocked 4K miles on it and I just love it. I am somewhat relieved financially speaking, that the newly morphed 997 appears somewhat lacklustre as I won't have to go through all the usual BS I have to go through with the missus to get the go ahead on a new vehicle. As others have mentioned, I think the new carrera should definately take its ques from the carrera gt.
