bose amplifier: fuse inside?

Hey. lets test your audio knowledge...

just installed a subwoofer and amp. the 2 channel amp taps into the subwoofer speaker wires after the stock factory amp on an 03 911tt with optical.

my radio turns on when it comes to lights and visuals, but thier is no sound.
i checked all the fuses in the kickpanels. nothing bad.

the fuse at the battery terminal went bad (but that only controls the jl audio amp).

one interesting thing i noticed is that i unclipped the optical wire coming from the headunit and thier was no red light.....indicating that the amp might not be on.

Where is the fuse for the stock amp?

thanks!

try replacing the blue fuse in the fuse box on the right side two or 4 rows down then second from the right. I believe that fuse is the one that fixed the same issue I had. It may look fine but just change it and see what happens. Sorry for being so vague but I only remember bits from my issue a while ago. Check past 6speed threads.

Are you saying you disconnected speaker wires from an amp and ran them into another sub amp to feed a larger sub?

i checked all the fuses..none are blown. (you can visually inspect these..right? a blown fuse will have the metal contacts burnt or not touching..correct?

christian..yes....this is the only way i can do the install without buying a whole new system.

i purchased a box from caraudioinovations and the only way to power these subs up are with an extra amp. since my system is fiber optic i can only tap into the wires after the stock amp.

update: thier is a blinking led light coming from the fiber optic amp.
when i disconnect the fiber optic wire from the amp (while the system is on) their is a clicking sound from the amp as if the amp is working..or perhaps turning on and off.
the led light is NOT constant. it comes on in pulses... stops..comes on...etc...

is it supposed to constantly lit on?

i know from my home audio devices its on all the time.

another thing i noticed my cd changer is not detectable.(also optical)
anyone think they know what happened here.

btw..i completely reversed my whole install...so everything is back to stock..(amp removed..everything reconnected).

How are you connecting the speaker wires from the existing amp to the new amp?

update: problem solved. it wasnt fuses. honestly..dont know what it was. i completely reinstalled everything stock and then installed the new amp again.

working fine.

christian...the brown and white (thicker gauge) wires coming off the stock amp are the wires that are being fed to the subs in the rear.

i basically intercepted those wires with a high/low periphrial converter going to the amp...going back to the bronw and white wires.

the setup i got sounds really good now...i belive i spoke to highhats about it and he has the same subsetup (3 jl audio 6.5 subs in a custom box..very siimilar to the stock bose box).
sounds great...
not too loud (what can you expect they are 6.5 subs..)

but quality wise they are excellent for the size.
