Front differential oil leak - question

About a year ago I noticed an 'oil slick' on the under belly of my '03 TT starting just behind the front diff. Took it to the dealer and they replaced an O ring where the prop shaft enters the diff housing.
Now it looks as though the problem has come back.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what the solution was.
I suspect the dealer will replace the O ring again, but that may not be the root cause.
Any comments or suggestions before I take it in ?

The car has done just over 20,000 miles and has never been tracked.

Thanks Tim

Well, there is a left and a right, theres a small possibility that the fixed side is ok, but I can't say for sure without seeing it.

When mine had a very small leak (i mean it was only detected when I had PSS9 suspesion installed...just a little wet spot on the underside of the car) they replaced the whole front differential. Told me Porsche wanted to replace the whole deal vs. fix seals.

Ditto, but the funny part was ... my car was approximately 10 days out of warranty and they failed to notice that until the diff was out and torn apart. It was really funny.

Goes in tomorrow....

Thanks for the insight guys.

Just spoke with SA and they can take a look at it tomorrow, hopefully this time it'll get fixed permanently.

Also getting them to take a look at the clutch accumulator as it seems to loose pressure assist after the car has been sitting for about 6 hours.
Previously it'd go days with no significant leakage.

Tim

New stuff...

Well, my TT is getting a new front diff and clutch accumulator fitted.

The diff was leaking from the same place so they decided to replace it.

All I need now is a new tranny to complement the new engine I had fitted at 7,000 miles and I have a completely refreshed engine and transmission ;-) jk
