Those prices are , I guess these are people selling these cars so cheap due to the fact they dont have the staying power to stay in the market.

hahaha... actually, it's the Turbo owners that would trip when they see the tail being kicked out so easily.

when they ask me what kind of suspension i'm running, i can truly say "STOCK"
How about a motor swap into this excellent chasis!!!

the car is AS by the way. So Hamann, what would be a more reasonable price since you just recently purchased one

I had the chance to do a qiuck canyon run to day in the GT2. Let me tell you there is NO comparison between the GT2 and a turbo. It is literally night and day. The car is AWESOME. Once you get used to the RWD you understand the AWD is just for the snow. It is the best decesion I have ever made as far as a car goes. No regrets wahtsoever. The car rocks!

This is fascinating to me - is there any great disadvantage to the rear wheel drive in a 0-60 or 1/4 mile acceleration? It seems that perhaps PSM would prevent too much spinnage, but boy it's hard to keep up with AWD in stopped acceleration, is it not?

The car is much faster than a stock turbo in a straight line, but the real advantage is in the turns. The steering has much crisper with more feel to it, the car feels much more agile and better weighted, the throttle response is awesome. With all due respect I can't quite comprehend why anyone would look to mod one (other than the ECU map of the 04) since it would take a far better driver than I to take adavantage of any additional HP. The car is set up just right and I feel that I am a much better driver now that I don't have PSM to always fall back on. You respect the car more, but it is also much more gratifying in the process. Don't get me wrong I really like the Turbo, but once you go GT2 there is no looking back.

I am going to stay quiet on this one due to the request of the market makers.

Seriously, you can buy a really nice '02 in the 140's.

CodeRed,

You forgot to mention one thing, how fun the fricking thing is when you kick out the tail in a high speed drift going around a corner. First thing I did after I got past my break-in period over the weekend.

That is a priceless moment.

After driving the GT2 for 8 or 9 days non-stop, it was torture to finally drive my M5 this morning to work, it felt so heavy and sloppy and even with my expensive electronic coilover suspension, the body roll was unbearable.

Porsche, there really is no substitute!

Hamann hit it on the head. Second gear powerslides are particular fun. The car is just so different than my '01 and 993TT (and way different than all of the previous 930s). I get a big grin every time I drive it.

The car is actually very predictable on second gear whilst kicking out the tail, but be careful in first it likes to snap.

I'm afraid of getting pummeled here, but the 'power slides' are one of the reasons I don't want to give up my Boxster S - it's so incredibly easy to do and I try to do it on each corner when I am by myself (I don't have PSM getting in the way) on that corner. Even just a little kick out is fun - certainly don't need to fishtail every time, but once in a while that's just the best feeling. It pulls right back in when I let it (simply letting loose on the throttle just a bit pulls the S right back in track), and makes driving FUN. I can't imagine what it must be like with nearly twice the horsepower and a similar weight!

Curses!!! Now I'll have to switch from looking for a TT to looking for a GT2! Wonder if any dealer would let me drive one first (pre-owned, of course). Hate to imagine what the insurance will be on that baby.

GT2

I can't be bothered to list all the differences, since it's been done before but the easy way to judge is:

1. Do a search of the Porsche forums and find the number of people who have sold Turbos to buy GT2s - answer = lots

2. How many people have sold a GT2 to buy a Turbo? Answer = none......

Now what does that tell you...............?

Guy
