C4Scab vs TTcab

Hey guys,

Im new to this board. I've been a Pcar nut for a long time. Right now I'm torn between a C4Scab and a Turbo cab. Aside from the obvious HP difference, anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks!

If you could get either, TTCab no question. I think the only difference is the HP.

HI,
I went with the C4S Cab because I didn't need the extra HP and I had a '02 C4S coupe which I felt was fine as far as performance goes. Good Luck.

If money is not an issue, why not go for the TT? You may not always need the extra hp, but at least it will always be there in case you do need it!

Ditto. Have had mine for 5 months and 2,200 miles. You also get the side intakes and rear spoiler. But, its the performance that is the big difference.

Wow, at least you have choice

I had a C4S (non-cab) and really wanted the Turbo Cab and ended up selling the C4S to get the Turbo Cab.

Obviously you have to consider the cost. However if you decide on getting the Turbo cab you won't regret it. The turbo is silly fast and well worth it. Obviously quite a few differences between Turbo and a regular 996. I just love my Turbo Cab. I thought the C4S was nice in look but still not quite enough. The Turbo Cab definitely has the speed, the looks, the drop top and also has plenty of optional speed enhancements. Once you've driven that Turbo there isn't any going back.

The only thing you'll have to worry about is wiping that grin off your face and/or opening your wallet that wide. My recommendation is if you can afford it do it, you won't regret it.

Seems like a strange question given you've already owned a TT, so you'll know the performance aspect already?

I would pick 4s for cab, since I don't like to boost when i have my top down. But 4s vs tt coupe........turbo all the way!

And for some reason the 4s cab looks better than tt cab IMO

One important thing not mentioned yet....

The engine block. The C4S cab has the problem plagued M96 engine (RMS and other leaks, etc.) while the Turbo's engine is much more reliable in the long run. That was a primary reason for me getting a Turbo after owning two 996 C2's.

Scott,
Are you considering any mods for that sturdy engine?

I am thinking of the Upsolute, but that's about it at this time.
I haven't had it on the track a lot yet, and until I 'master' this new car in stock form, I don't want to mod it much. I didn't buy a turbo until I felt like I was at the top of the my C2's game on the track.
I believe in progressive learning.
