My New "old" lift...

I wanted to share some new pics taken in my garage this weekend. Friday Tim W. and I went with a Uhaul trailor and picked up a Low Rise lift. The guy put it on with a fork lift we got it off using egyptian pyramid tricks. A bit of scrubbing, Paint, New rubber pads and some fluid the lift is in the garage. Saturday was filled with a few set backs starting with the new hose breaking at the fitting. Luckily we found a Tractor shop that had the tools to make me a new hose. Later in the day the pump fell over when we moving the lift. The lever to let the lift down broken off. (See the replacement crest lever... MUCH Cooler) All in all the project was a ton of fun. I am so excited to have a lift it is going to come in handy! I found the lift on Craigs list for $400 it turned out to be a great deal.
Lift after Paint. (Spray can truck bed liner paint over Primer) Began it's life as a Rotary lift in Red.

Testing the lift out...

Great new/used project. Makes it even more enjoyable when you know you had a hand in doing it. I love seeing things fixed/refurbished. I know I dont have money growing in one of my trees, so this is something I will start looking for. Thanks for the ideas.

Garage looks awesome.....love the brick section.

I wonder how many guys on this forum have a lift? I have a 2 post asymetric Rotary lift. I love it! I should paint mine black as well it looks great! How is your floor holding up? I am thinking of doing racedeck but thought it might be hard to keep clean.

Are you comfortable lifting your car like that with the side rocker extension getting compressed? A drive-on or 4pt lift would be ideal.

CPU- It cleans up easy I have had it for over a year. I work in my garage so it does get really dirty at times. When I need to clean the floor here is what I do. I use the degreaser sold at costco spray it down with the squirt bottle that comes with the jug. Then I use an upright wet vac/mop (Hoover?) with floor cleaner. I finally drop some cotton shop towels and "skate" around the floor to dry it. It takes me 20 min to do the entire floor. I don't do it that often only when it gets real dirty. It looks clean again.

Ring- The rockers don't get compressed I have rubber hockey pucks at the recommended jacking points. The lift never touches the rockers. The 4pt mid rise lift would require longer "Homemade" ramps. Which run along side the car. I have seen many threads on rennlist on mid-rise lift. This lift I feel is the most ideal in a low ceiling situation. If I had my choice I would have put in a 2 post lift but that is not feasible in my current garage.
