Please define 'best'.

Are you planning to extensively run the vehicle on the track?

Do you want a good ride on the street?

How low do you want to set the car?

 

just a good ride on the street, im not tracking

 

For a great street suspension setup, I highly recommend the Techart suspension - uses Bilstein shocks (a lot of people have Bilstein build their shocks including Ruf) and progressive rate springs.

Whatever you do, I'd pick something with a spring rate that affords you a good ride, especially if you are running 19" wheels/tires.

I have JIC/Cross 7/10 on my 02 Turbo and love them. Def better ride than stock.

I'm with Bill. I use the 8/12 (medium) springs. I find the ride way more compliant than the OEMs. I don't know how I'd get downtown without 14 way adjustability!

best pricing and best coil over are directly proportional. A "Bilstein" type coil over as mentioned above or PSS9 seems to be what you are looking for.
The moton or JRZ's are top of the line and also the most expensive set ups usually reserved more for track duty.
JIC and KW variants are also some cost effective good choices.

My car is used 90% for track duty so I ended up with the moton clubsport suspension. Just my 2 cents.....tom

 

What you should look for in a suspension will depend on your use.

What do you use your car most?
Who is installing the suspension? Find someone who knows about suspensions to install it. And not someone who is selling the kit out of a parts book.

For street use, The Bilstien PSS9 kit works very well and is the most compliant. The JIC cross can be had with upgraded springs to offer a firmer ride.
Contrary to what people say, That a racing shock rides stiffer than the 2 other choices. If tuned properly a Moton or JRZ can offer a better ride than both the PSS9 and JIC. But you need to find someone who knows about shocks to set them up..
I have Motons on our GT2 and absolutley love the ride. It is very comfortable,very compliant and the ride is night and day compared to the stock suspension.

Just remember when it comes to suspension - You get what you pay for....

Im going with the JRZ clubsport RS setup for my PCA happenings...cant wait to get them set up...I heard that they really transform the car!

 

I went with JIC as well, 9kg/12kg set up. You know when you've hit not just big pot holes, but also relatively minor imperfections in the road. I still have the stock 18 inch wheels and am at the most firm setting.

I also just completed an autocross a couple of weekends ago and the car felt great as is, but suspect it could still use some tuning/adjustment. I just need to get a better feel for what needs to be done and why. I know that will come in time. It handles soooo much better than stock. It seems that all four wheels are under you even during the tightest cornering maneuvers, not so for stock.

One more thing, I just ordered a set of 19 inch wheels and tires. I suspect I'll need to adjust the ride a bit for the road in order to protect my wheels and possibly my lower back.

Great post Fabryce. Couldn't agree more. Motons for me is "the" kit to have. People that say they're too rough on the street either haven't had them set up properly or just don't own/ride on them....
