For the Gear HEad

Why is it that almost every built turbo i see it has silcon boost hoses. Why dont you guys run metal pipes with silcon connectors like almost everyone else?

Thanks

Because they're not running intercooler piping all over the car. An Evo or other front mount IC will use metal piping because the pipes are 3+ feet long. Subarus use silicon hoses because the IC is right next to the turbo(<1ft). It appears that Porsche hoses are the same or similar.
