Another thing, has anybody ever thought about staying away from first year model or does the Elise have a good enough rep as is? Just being its first year/model for the US, might have some problems?

In a way you spoke of what we might consider "engrish".

they are a little ugly in pics, but are kinda cool in real life.
Funny thing is that I thought the same, then saw a variety of colors at the LA Auto Show. I recall that RED and Black were the best colors. For some reason, yellow and silver enhance all of those black gaping inlets, ovals, and concave shapes that clutter the front end of the Lotus Elise. Lots of easy performance mods for that Toyota Celica engine......

Yup I am on the waiting list for delivery in December or early 2005. Waiting for the LSD option to be available, should be by then. Should be a blast.

Wild thing is I show the pics to people and ask how much they think it is -- I get answers between $175k and $375k generally. They're blown away when I said $40k.
Who are you showing those pictures to, the chief purchaser for the U.S. Government?

that's a good point-due to the low expense and it being a toyota engine my baby will certainly be looking at some major league supercharging- here's mine- http://www.puresportscar.com/gallery...cat=998&page=1
