EVO stage 1

I am new to the thread. I have an '01 996TT with a Tip. I just ordered RG5 Champion motorsport wheels. I am strongly considering the Evo Stage 1 package. From those who have purchased this, what are your thoughts? Any issues? Mike at Evo had said I would be looking at 60hp and 90lbs of torque. Is this accurate? I appreciate any thougths.

With EVO, I think if you have X50, you jump to Stage III directly, unless your username doesnt mean "x50" lol

The OP has a '01 996tt, so no X50 available that year.

I ended up going to Stage 2 on the K16s because eventually Stage 1 would only be a teaser. At around 525hp, I should be happy for awhile.

Get a nice exhaust, Europipe is always good, and your ready for a stage 4 file. You should do your hoses and diverter valves just to be safe.

Stage 1 and 2 are one and the same flash. Just augmented with exhaust and intake.

X50dot...

You have a great car (with a sissy tranny),and will enjoy it immensly!

tap the acount and slap a GT700 kit on it along with some coil overs,
groovy wheels, cage, seats, and carbon fibre everywhere you can reach from
the driver seat. If you dont do this in the first month, many of us cannot relate to your patience and may not be able to talk to you.

A friend of mine has a 01 Mdnight Blue 996TT, He went with B&B GT Mufflers, Fast-Tunning Ecu upgrade, EVOMS Boost Hoses, EVOMS Airintake, DV and Headers for K16 Turbos, Its way faster and I think its pushing 560hp to the engine or even more.

Do your bank account and yourself a huge favor....start where you will most likely finish... What I mean is this: I have had my 01TT since Aug 05 and did Evo stg1...EVo stg2...Ultimate Motorwerks Zero Clearance STG2 hybrids.... and I am now on to UMW STG3 Zero Clearance hybrids.... It would have been significantly cheaper to just go to the STG3 kit from the get go... Never underestimate your need for power... Do your research and find a kit that is right for you and start a relationship with a tuner. You may look at the prices of a kit like a GT700 or a Proto700 or Kevins upcoming STG3 ZC and say " I would never spend that type of money" and eventually do. Well, there are lots of us who did just that. Good luck. Kevin G

I second what Kevin is saying as I will soon be deleting my PSI 480

program on my ECU. Why??? not because it is not a great program, it has

worked flawlessly, but I am a power junky so it will "go up in smoke"

and I willl be moving on. I am very happy I did not buy a new set of

K-24's as I had ordered at one time, as these would run out of steam

far sooner than my Need for Speed!

Good luck in whatever you do but do consider long term possiblities.

Marty K
