Renntech SL600 VS Attorney's Gallardo
Renntech SL600 VS Attorney's Gallardo
Had a chance to see/drive my attorney's Gallardo. Seeing the Gallardo in person, I thought it was very small. The hood was tiny. THe interior fit and finish was "good" with two tone black/gray seats, clear guages, and nice *****. A bit of plastic around though. Maybe he didn't have any full leahter option or something. Regardless, this black one was a 6speed, and the shifter felt great. Engine sounded sick, with a deep exhaust growl. Ok, sorry, but end of good things to say.
We had a blast down 55 south on a clear midnight run. I first drove the SL600 and had a few runs with his 1300 mi gallardo. 3rd gear starts, the damn 600 was so damn laggy, so the Gallardo had consistent jumps on me. However, unlike against upsolute turbo, come 4th gear I Could not believe how far I launched in front of the Gallardo, and increasing distance upto 150+mph. I almost thought he wasn't trying. 3 times later, it was quite evident. Granted, these are two different cars, and my 600 was chipped, but still 43K cheaper. Gallardo I am sure would have left me in the dust on a road course, but for those of you seeking this for mainly street use, think again (IMHO)
I had a chance to squeeze into the gallardo, and drive it, as he thought something might be wrong with it. Sure felt like nothing was wrong. Not keen on the seating position with your thighs angled high. On the highway, the car didn't feel as torquy as StephenTi's strong 5th gear Upsolute Turbo, nor even a murcielago I drove 2 years ago. The car seemed to have excellent gearing, and perhaps this is why it performs so well in low end against the 996TT as the mags say. Hey Fred, Are you sure you want one?
My friend and attorney stated he rarely drives fast, and uses it for more pimp factor. To each his own, but in my humble OPINION (No flames intended) - Great way to jump into a new Lamborghini under 200K, and you'll impress 80% of the onlookers. But thats it.
I really like audi a lot, and asked myself if I'd get one. Well, if the price was below 140 for a new one.... I'll drink to that!

I think the Audi Le Mans with a TT version of the Gallardo V10 and a 120K MSRP will be one of THE cars to have
Gallardo is sick looking and sounding though...I was impressed when I played with one here in Saudi in how quiet the interior was (even quieter than my TT now!!)...

Tell him his Gallardo is stink'n fast... then, tell him I'll race for pink slips...
I think Audi will inject some much needed quality and fit&finish into Lambo. It is a good marriage. Audi quality/ergo with Lambo V12/design... hopefully.

I currently own an LGM TR '03 Z06... Heads/cam + full bolt on car making 440-450 at the rear wheels and I must say, it's an absolute blast. I'm selling it though because I really like the idea of a true four season supercar like the 996TT!
It's a bit unfair to compare a tuned V12 600 with a stock Gallardo on acceleration but I'm glad you drove it.
I think the V12 would be a lot faster at speed.
And Shank, thanks a lot for promoting some fine Swedish vodka.
One thing is sure, you WILL need your attorney if Absolut sees that.
