Upsolute Dyno Graph

Mods: Upsolute Chip, Cargraphic Exhaust, KN filter. Pump Gas (93 oct).

Dyno'd on a Dynojet with front driveshaft disconnected.

Both technicians working on the car claimed that there was slippage on the run. However, I didn't detect any.

Was this on pump gas? If so, was it 91, 92, or 93 octane?

Were these results measured at the rear wheels or at all four wheels?

Thanks!

Marc

Is that graph too rich at higher RPM?

So a non upsolute Turbo produces more HP after 5300 RPM?

Looks like 12:1 A/F in the higher RPMs. This is a little on the rich side, but nothing to be concerned with since most turbocharged and supercharged cars from the factory run a LOT richer than that! They like to richen the mixture a little in the high RPMs to prolong the life of the turbo(s). From my experiences, there is very little HP gain in leaning out a force induction car from 12:1 to say 12.5:1 or 13:1.

I'm such a noob, does 454 to the wheels mean the car is 554 hp?

Rave they said that the front driveshaft was disconnected so you would multiply the 454 by 15-17% instead of the usually 22-24% for a AWD Turbo, I got 522-531 HP at the flywheel.

I highly doubt the driveline loss of a 996TT with the front driveshaft disconnected is 15-17%. MAYBE if it were automatic, I'd believe it. But most modern RWD stickshift cars lose only ~12%. Therefore, it's about 508-509 flywheel horsepower. Still not too shabby. :-)

Evo uses the same dyno when they dyno their cars. They also disconnect the front drivetrain. Correction factor 1.15%

454.9 HP = 523hp at the crank
504.8lb/ft=580lb/ft at the crank

I thought that Evo's Dynojet was RWD while the one at the Porsche Exchange was AWD? That right there could skew numbers since they're not the same dyno.

Seems kind of pointless that a Porsche shop would spend the extra money for an AWD dyno when most of the AWD cars that they service wind up disconnecting the front driveshafts anyway because the AWD Dynojet is not the type of AWD dyno that Porsches should be used to dyno on. I've heard of Porsches blowing center differentials when dynoed in "AWD mode" on AWD Dynojets. So why would the Porsche Exchange go and purchase an AWD Dynojet? Seems like a waste of money...they should have went with the AWD Mustang dyno that GIAC and AWE use!
