Yes...same kit that I used to have, except he cranked it to 1.85 BAR and launched like a *****. I never ran mine beyond 1.3 BAR

Marty, I have discussed the mods with Todd K and he is supplying the ECU. TK has endorsed them as beneficial toward the goal of higher HP / less lag, so this combination is my attempt to create a "hybrid" PROTO 600. I'm trying to insure I break that 11.51...

Excellant choice John!!!!

To get the best possible boost response port the headers. Get the absolute best flowing exhaust (Fabspeed!?). Remember its the delta between TIP and exhaust backpressure that spins the turbo.

You will have less lag than a stock K24. The turbine is oversized such that it provides more than enough shaft torque to spin those larger compressors. For the same shaft speed the 18G delivers more flow & pressure than the K24's.

I highly suggest IC's (EVO's look really good & NOT GT2's) and a good free flowing air filter and cut out cover.

This will give you great boost response and insaine mid range & top end power.

Have fun!!!!

His software will for sure be the key to it all.

Wow - I would be afraid to damage the motor! Great time, though.

Correction:

Scott, My understanding is that the 9.90 was run using
K24/20G compressors, and yes stock internals!!

Marty K.

(Programming is EVERYTHING) and yes I do believe VR Alex's car will
run in the 9's (Obviously)

Thanks, K24 - The headers are already ported and ceramic coated, plus I have the Evo V-flo for added flow, which so far I have had 0 problems with in 2 years. There is another Proto 600 running these two mods and Todd says it produced an additional 30AWHP to the wheels with just these two items.

I am adding the turbo inlet ducts/plenum and HF intercoolers to this mix to aid in flow and then the 75mm throttle body w/ diverter plenum for Mid range and top end improvement.

I have a RUF exhaust which is probably not the best flowing, but I like it.

According to Todd K of Protomotive, the stock fuel injectors are only capable of making 650 HP. The plan is to be close to the 650. If you want the big power, you have to go with the PROTO 700, which includes additional fuel pumps, fuel rails, fuel injectors, custom Y-pipe / intake, revised MAF, IC's and more. This is what Scott used to run the 10.6 @ 136.

Yup - I am getting pretty close to that 650HP mark with this set up now (640ish). When these turbos hit, they hit hard!

I will be going with the 700++ system this spring!
