Look forward to hearing your glowing reviews.
" notquitefob For those of us that can't shell out the extra 10-12k difference to go w/ the 700 Protomotive kit, the 650 will have to do = )"
One of the great features of the PROTO 600 package is that if you decide to go to the 700 in a year or so (which I think most do) or whenever you're ready, all the hardware from the 600 stays in place and the additional P700 components are added to the mix. It's a nice platform for upgrading and keeps things interesting.
A lot of the enjoyment with these cars is the journey and I have truly enjoyed each stage. Stock was good for 6 months or so, then I went to stage 2 and was happy for 3 years. When I got the itch for something more, I tried stage 4 - K16/24 hybrid and that is a really great package. I think I would have been happy for a long time (maybe forever) with stage 4 had I not gotten into 1/4 miling this past summer
, but now my goals have changed to reducing my ET and increasing the trap. Based on Scotts 10.6 @ 136 with a PROTO 700, I decided to go down the Protomotive path knowing the 10's are pretty much guaranteed - only a phone call away. However, I am enjoying the journey this year with a goal of trying to see how fast I can ET with the 600. I know deep down inside chances are my car will be getting the 700 treatment after a season and that will be exciting, as well. There is an old (I think Porsche) saying..something about "for those that enjoy getting there as much as being there". I think it applys to modding, as well.
