Factory Aero kit spoiler

I have a factory rear spoiler on my 996 Turbo. What does it take to put a factory Aero spolier on it. Does the Aero spolier go up and down

Thanks
Brad

Carnewal-europe.com has them. The aero kit is quite expensive though. I think it is around $5500 plus shipping. If you ordered it from the factory it was an $8000 option.

You need to replace the whole deck lid and also add the front spoiler. Porsche does NOT recommend adding a larger rear spoiler without the corresponding front spoiler. The other guys are correct in that the spoiler is fixed. If I was you -- I would go for the GT type spoiler and add a front spoiler to go with it.

Is there a different harness that needs to be used since the spoiler will no longer go up and down and so the ECU will think there is a problem?

Yes, the harness is 340$. You need the entire kit; decklid w/wing, front lip, harness and seal. Might get lucky and find one on ebay. The C4S aero is similar but not interchangable. The going price, used, is about 2k.

C4S Surgeon: So that used price is for the whole kit: front, rear, harness, etc. What is the seal for?

If I was you I would look at the other spoilers that can replace the upper (movable) in what you have. There are some awesome looking spoilers out there and that way you don't have to buy all the parts and then have them painted as well. Some I've seen on this forum are even carbon fiber which means no painting at all. Don't forget to add a front spoiler as well when at it.

Yes, but the aerokit is aerodynamically designed/tested for your car. Bling wise doesn't really matter, but at the track highspeed instability is problematic.
The seal is a rubber weather seal(stick-on) that porsche includes with the kit, 140$ by itself. The new deck won't close/open correctly without it, and the universal weatherstripping just won't cut the job. Ask me how I know

I went with the factory aerokit as it was a wind tunnel tested porsche motorsports option.
At speed you can actually feel the car push down and hold the road better.
As said it is fixed.
It also looks nice and in my area dont see them on any other turbos!!
Rear deck lid is heavy however.
