can anyone recommend a good auto shipping company?

I dont need enclosed or anything, but need to get a land rover disco from CO out to Cali. I am getting quotes from around 850-1k which seems high, but I have little experience so any advice would be appreciated.

TIA

I used express auto to get my evo from CO to me. It was around 800 dollars or so. They started at the 1K range but i told them i had found cheaper pricing and they came down. The car was treated well, and i have no complaints!

Bodybag has a spectacular aura aboutBodybag has a spectacular aura about
Schilli Specialized - 866-CAR-HAUL

I dealt with Rick Scheen on 2 different occasions moving cars to and from Ohio to CA. Delivery was quick and reasonably priced. Contact and communication was a breeze.

I also have used AAAdvantage - DONT USE THEM. After they told me 7 days, it took them almost 3 months to move a car from Ohio to CA, and their delivery guaranty isn't worth ****! When the car arrived in CA I had to pick it up from their holding yard myself because it was going to take another 7-10 days for them to make the "local delivery" even thought they were less than 20 minutes away from me.

Thanks Ben. Just pinged him, hopefully he can do me one better than all american auto transport and its all his.

I did check DAS, they were a bit high (several hundred higher than their web quote as they said that the Disco was bigger than their 'large van' connotation...I assume a Hummer of any variety would be the equivalent of shipping a elephant for them).

Most people use fedex passport or intercity lines. They are inclosed, insured carriers. If you go to barret jackson these are the most frequently used. I used fedex passport to get my turbo from MI to So cal. They were very good and the car got here quickly (for about $1800).

Use a good one: Like Intercity who hauled ALL of the Carrera GT's.

Dont be cheap, I was and it cost me an extra $5000. !!
