I'll give one and then another for every new legitimate one someone adds.

Remove your clutch accuator. Removing provides better feel. I can't remember the weight off the top of my head, somewhere just under fifty pounds.

I didnt like the feel of the porsche shifter myself, good to know this.

Ok someone that really knows their stuff! I'm adding that to my list, are there any downsides to this mod? Can you verify any of the weights we have listed so far?

How'd it work out, any fitment or other installation issues? Is a carbon roof safe for street use? Would it break up in a rollover?

Well, it depends on how you like the feel of your clutch. It takes more effort and you feel the engaugement all the way through the release.

I use to have all the weights, but I don't have the paper now. Some of those that were listed are accurate others are way off.

I'll give you another one. I was looking for pics, but unable to find. Many of my pics were lost went 986host.com closed. Here is another one that is worth about ten plus pounds. When we removed the bumper shocks we also drilled out the bumpers. I believe we used something like a 3" hole saw. We drilled the face and upper/lower lips. The lips used a smaller hole.

Yes, it will break easily in a rollover. The sun roof can be removed rather easily. The cost of replacing the headliner is steep.

I've been wanting to do this for a few months, knowing that it'll save nearly 50 lbs of weight has sealed the deal! Thanks!

I believe I have those pics of the drilled bumper bars saved on another computer, I'll try to find them this weekend.

I like this thread.

Contact Rob @ S Car Go Racing, he will give you all the particulars regarding removing the accuator and exact weights.

Battery 37lbs
Spare and Tools 60lbs????

Seats 65lbs
Rear Seat Delete 15lbs
Wiper delete 3lbs
Wheels and tires 28lbs max
RWD 70 lbs
straight pipes, racing cats 55lbs????
LWFW 10lbs????
Clutch Actuator removal 45-50 lbs

This is the current list we have,
I basically guess on the Spare and Tools,
the battery has been confirmed,
Seats will be contingent on what type you get,
Seat delete was talked about in a previous thread,
Wiper delete previour thread as well
RWD now seems to have a range from 70-120 based on reports
Straight cats and racing pipes was advised in this thread, no verification
LWFW was a guess on my part
Clutch Actuator from CJV
Wheels was based on approximate savings based on the 22,27 weight of stock wheels being that 18lbs and 20lbs for lightweight wheels is very possible.

I would like to know who can or has verified some of the weights on this list so we can get started on an ofiicial thread.

Don't forget the two rear bumperetts. We replaced them with slotted stainless vents for the nitrous.

well the accuator thing sounded so good I went right to my "personal mechanic" and porsche expert and here is what he said........

There is a hydraulic clutch cylinder on the bellhousing that is connected to your power steering pump. When you push the clutch pedal, it opens a valve and activates the clutch. This is a complex unit. The standard NA cars (as well as GT3) use a simpler method without the power clutch part. But it still requires a master and slave cylinder. They are just not quite as heavy (mostly becuase you do not have a pressure accumulator - something that holds pressure about 2000 PSI - about the size of an orange and approx 6 lbs). Total weight savings isn't 15 lbs.

cjv you are the MAN but what do ya think? Worth it or not??

So is it or is it not the same piece that CJV mentioned that saved almost 50 lbs? Also how did you get 7lbs from the Wiper delete when most people get 3lbs?
