Question Anyone in Boston with Upsolute?

Thinking about doing upsolute to my Turbo. I went to Upsolutes webpage and one of the distributors is Scott Ramsey in Shrewsbury, Ma. Just curious is any of you guys have heard about him or his work before?

Thanks!

I had the Upsolut in my TT and it was done by My Garage Inc. in CT...I did not like the increased lag over stock. Also, the particular place that did mine is HORRIBLE!! When I did my GIAC Stephen at Imagine Auto showed me pics of the ****-poor soldering job that was done and told me that they used an AUdi EPROM instead of a Porsche one (the Porsche one withstands higher temps...).

MSindi,

I remember reading about your horrific exp. at My Garage. That is why I have chosen not to go to Conn. I guess the next closest dist. would be this Scott Ramsey guy in Shrewsbury, Ma. Just curious if anyone knows of him or the work he has done.

Email rberube@upsolute.com if you are willing to remove and reinstall the CPU yourself.

Removing the ECU is a very simple job. Behind the speaker openings on the Bose box are two screws. Remove the plastic covers, remove screws, pull out the box, unplug, remove carpeting and you are looking at the metaql cover over the ECU. A few screws will give you access to the ECU. Unplug all connections ( there is no wrong way to reconnect), send it to Rene in Charlotte and have him do the upgrade. He'll have it back to you within 24 hours. Just had my TT done. You won't believe the performance increase.

AeroTT,

I removed my ECU myself and sent it to Rene @ Upsolute.

The local distributors my not have experience with a 996TT ECU.

TRR,

I'm thinking that that might be my best bet.

Where in MA are you located?

Smile

I live in Mansfield, where 495 and 95 meet south of Boston.

Let me know and we can discuss my experiences further.

I don't have the latest version and only have only seen the ABS light issue if the temp. is less than 20 deg. outside. Rene has offered to uprev for me but I just haven't gotten time to send it out to him yet.

The difference is noticeable.

I have version V. Because we got hit with 18 inches of snow the day after my car was chipped, I have not had a chance to drive it much. Today is the first day out in a week. So far, no lights. It runs like a red *** ape. I've done a lot of minor mods, but this is one of the best and, with the exception of Bailey DV's, the cheapest.

NC Bob, that is awesome! Please keep us updated on ver. V when you get more seat time.

TRR: Thanks for the input. I will PM you if I have any further questions.
