X50 Mods Help

I just got my 2003 porsche 996 X50 Turbo..

I dont know what to do so please leave your opinion

should I do straight pipes with mufflers because just straight pipes with no mufflers are way to loud

or should I do no cats with mufflers

or just muffler by pass pipe?

also what is the cheapest software chip that you guys reccommend?

if you have any other ideas on what mods i should do please let me know

also which set up gains the most power?

thanks

JWC is infamous around these parts
Look into the newer Fabspeed (without the drone) and as far as an ECU upgrade I chose Protomotive and I am very happy with the results. There are other sponsors on this site that have happy P owners also. I would also consider upgrading the BOV's and replacing the paper filter with a BMC filter. Good luck in your quest for more power.

I would do an exhaust with cats and mufflers. But that is a personal choice.

There are a few good options for ECU flashes. Whatver you do NOT get a solder ECU, that's old school. Everyone now offers a quick flash.

If do get an ECU on your X50 make SURE to get upgraded wastegates or the wastegate mod. It WILL NOT perform to your satisfaction until you do.

Have fun!

depends what YOU want. If you loose the cats you must flash due to CEL's.
My first thing I did with mine was 100 cell cats and straight pipes. Less weight more hp and turbo spool and not very expensive. Loud yes, do I like it yes, do others, well I dont care.
Next upgrade the wastegates, then you still have not paid to flash and car runs and holds 1.0 bar.
Then you flash, HUGE difference!! and you can go to straight pipes.

A good after market exhaust with 100 cell cats and a good ECU flash is the "safest" way to go however.

ari has got it right. If you want to know about the straight pipe life pm me.
