New Inspection results...

Well I sent another car for inspection. Its an 01 Basalt black. I sent it in for inspection. Evrything checks out fine. The tech said it needed an alignment (no biggie) and the HBA sensor bracket was broken

But I wanted your opinions on these range 1 and 2 numbers:
"Number of ignitions, range 1:
14949 1568.3h"
"Number of ignitions, range 2:
20 736.3h"

Also I plan on purchasing a 3rd party warranty...would there be any issues?
Thanks

There was a thread that explained the range 1 and 2 and how to calculate them into seconds in each range. I think those numbers are pretty good and wouldn't bother me. Although Porsche will void a factory or CPO warranty for any range 2's, I'm not sure it would effect an after market warranty. Most people don't even know what these are.

The hours are the last posted engine hour the event happened. So the last range 2 overrev happened at engine hour 763.3 and the engine has apparently motored on for 800+hours more. The last redline hit (range1) was at engine hour 1568.3.

You should also get the total engine hour number and divide it into the indicated mileage to check the average miles per hour on the car. Normally it falls in the 30-40mph range. A number in the 10-15 range would make me suspicious of the mileage.
Good Luck!
Carmen

From the few PPI's I just got done...

Range 1 is overreving shifing up

Range 2 is induced by overreving downshifting much worst in my humblw opinion.
