But seriously, great analysis. However, I am concerned about the impact on my O2 sensors.

Chris, your still on for our trip to "Mexico" Sat night, yes?

We are counting on your camera skills. I need you to document Paulies CHEATING!
Sean yeah I'm still down. I'll have it on the internet a few minutes after I get home. Also as far as o2's go race gas can burn them up just as fast if not faster In my Camaro (since I still use a stock PCM) I have to replace my o2s every time it was out. Between the C16 and the giant flames on decel. they give out LOL! Luckly I own a stock pile of o2s for LS1s

I think what Simba's point is that for periods when you can't get race gas it will hold you over if 91/93 Octane just won't cut it.

Essentially, yes. I think it's potentially a great product for keeping a can or two in the car for road trips and the like where a ready supply of race fuel may not be easily found, yet given the choice between this stuff and a metal-free unleaded race gas, I'd go with the race gas.

I'm going to run it on a limited basis in my rally car and keep an eye on what it does to the 02 sensors.

There are rocket scientist in the world and Simba is one of them. Ty for the great post. Higher octane from a bottle is a nice thought but not at the expense of new cats and O2 sensors.

exactly - i view this as insurance and back-up, not replacement. i ordered my case yesterday. for the trips to the netherlands where there's only 91, i can throw in a bottle of this stuff and run the 93 program without worrying.

buying o2's and cats is far cheaper than buying engines...

Creating chemical mixtures is not as easy as dropping a can in the tank. I would be concerned about the specific gravity differences and potential for settling. In addition, from what I have read, these boosters do not change the octane from 91 to say 96...more like from 91 to say 91.5.

Of course I could care less what you put in your tank or what you believe your octane is. I would really want to see some data about actual octane readings after mixing the "booster"...I am a firm believer in data not just theory.

MTI motorsports in Houston...I picked up a bottle to try out today. Funny thing is, although they are GM guys (mostly Corvettes) they read 6speed. One guy said..."your the Jitsu guy, aren't you? We heard about your upcoming race in "Mexico" tomorrow" lol

Chris,

Paulie is pulling out tonight (I told him that I know he is on race file, btw).

I suppose Joe and I could run, if he returns my call.

Give me a call.
