when starting the car during winter make sure that it reaches operating temp for about 5-10 min. If you dont let it reach operating temp you can build up condensation and the water will sit in the engine... this is very bad for a car. letting it reach operating temp will ensure burning most of the condensation.
Oh yeah, def start modding...

I live up the road from you CT guys - buy the 3M film package, then call Tire Rack for some snows and enjoy the car - I have 134,800+ miles on mine and it looks great - in fact most people look and say WHAT??? How many miles.....bottom line is the car won't melt from the salt....

"Being in Minnesota, my next garage will have Wirsbo in floor garage heat.
Drive cars in with wet tires, and slush dripping off them, and in the morning
the floor is dry again!
Right now it is 10 degrees F in my garage."
Woodster - I put one zone off my boiler and ran it to two modine unit heaters (fan power coil unit) and they keep the garage about 50-55 on the real cold days and also helps evaporate the slush as well - works like a charmer. Is your garage attached?? T2

The good news is: I just returned from my garage. I turned on th eheater for about a half hour and got it reasonably warm (for Connecticut in the cold part of the winter). I took the advice and claned the car with a warm bucket of water and a chamois cloth (paricularly nasty wheels). Dried it off and sparyed it down with a detailer. WOW! It sure looks good now. Then I topped off the battery level and "amintained" the battery with my cig lighter unit.
The bad news is: it's still too cold outside and the roads are still too salty and sandy for me to take the car out. So I have to get my jollies here on the computer or reading magazines. Yuck! At least the car looks really good sittting in the dry and clean garage.

Hey guys,
I got the Porsche Decal on my wall from a vendor on EBAY. I did a search for Porsche stuff for the garage and I found that. it was like 25.00 bucks. dont know if the vendor is still around.
