Even trade is apples to oranges. I'd buy a lot of things that I don't need/want/like if you offered them to me at 25-50% less than they are worth.

The Gallardo is a great car. This debate on whether it great or it sux has been discussed in many other threads "Ad Nauseum". Have a little respect for those that have them or are considering them in the future. I love Porsche's, but I am also an enthusiast that has respect and admiration for many other exotics than just Porsche...I would like to see how many people would keep their Porsche if they were offered a new Gallardo in an even trade...Guess the car isn't so ****ty after all
Well said Rockitman

I guess we can't say anything negative about any car then, true or not, as someone on this board is bound to have it or have had it. 'cept maybe hondas

i wouldn't take a Gallardo in an even trade but would guess most would.

Unless you have been asleep at the wheel for the past month or two, I believe everything that can be discussed, has been discussed about the Gallardo in multiple posts...

then let's try some reading comprehension just in this thread ...

first someone posted "who wouldn't keep a Gallardo over a 996???

lets be realistic 6speed folks.."

that's when the replies came in.

then someone posted "btw the Gallardo looks like a baby Murc. In fact its frequently mistaken for one in pictures and in person. So I dont know how you guys can say oh I love the looks of the Murc, but the Gallardo, eh, I dont like it.. discuss"

that's when the pic and other info was posted.

then this was posted "I would like to see how many people would keep their Porsche if they were offered a new Gallardo in an even trade"

and you wonder why the Gallardo is being discussed (again)? ... I don't think this is just jumping in and bashing the Gallardo ... but when someone posts false assumptions and asks for replies, why not counter?

I will be placing my order for a Gallardo later this summer. I must prove that a Lambo and a Porsche can get along together.

I'm not a fan of the Gallardo but to each his own.....from a performance perspective they seem reasonably equal. The G's handling feels a bit better than a stock TT, but not better than a TT w/PSS9's. My slightly modified TT feels much quicker.

When it comes to Lambos, I think go big (Murci) or go home!

ok then, what's the best post for a 996 Turbo board, since you seem to know?
Think about it. It's not about me knowing all, it's about you thinking you can post on a Turbo board that we all would toss our cars and jump at a Gallardo. Your statement is just plain dumb. Instead of assuming we all agree with you, which many don't, why don't you just post your opinion. Maybe you and Allen should start your own All Lambos are Better Than Porsches club. Stock Turbo vs. Gallardo I agree with you, but many of us, myself incuded have modified cars that we think look better and probably out-perform the Gallardo. Since I've never driven one I can't say, but the looks aren't for me over my car.

You're right, I would take the Gallardo, sell it, but a new tt, mod it, and pocket any remaining cash. In my opinion, my car is now higher performance, more reliable, and better looking. I'm not trashing the Gallardo at all, the performance sounds good in stock mode. I don't like the looks and the reliability is unknown. Personal taste, but no contest in my eyes.

great picture, helps prove my point. do you think the casual observer would mistake a Gallardo for a Murc? I'd have to say yes.

good point. but not everybody wants the "plain-jane" supercar look either. thats why Im shopping around for something exotic now, but it wont be yellow.

rockitman, this is a common attitude of Porsche owners - they turn up their nose when they see Ferraris or Lambos... or other classically known exotics. think back to an "Exotic Car" calendar from the 80's or 90's. chances are it was mostly full of Italian cars. Im happy that I'm not so ignorant to say that my 996 is like God's gift to the universe. A car is a car people.
