Turbo Timer & Blow Off Valve

I was talking to a mechanic and he suggested that I pick these up for my -01 TT. Is this really true and if so what brand/type is suggested? Thanks!

Try Diverter Valve and patience when you stop the car.... I have a turbo timer it is absolute garbage! When the car shuts off it gives last second failures ( airbag and brake). PLUS you cant lock the door and you have to wait there for the car to shut off. Invest in a radar detector, some EVOMS Diverter Valves, and a hose kit. GL IMO

If you plan on using a turbo timer then you do not deserve to drive a Porsche.
Patience... my friend. 2 minutes of you time will not kill you...

blow off valve is the last thing you want, ya they're fun but not good for p-cars...and with the turbo timer, its much easier to hang out for a minute than deal with the hassle(they're a pain to install and like everyone said dont usually work right)

How much cool down does one need?

I was under the impression that the Garrett BB turbos (that I have...not sure about the KKK's) don't need that much cool down.

I get on my car then drive slowly for the last few minutes (through my residential neighborhood w/ lots of small kids).

I have assumed that a couple of minutes of slow driving (IE no boost) were enough. Should I let the car idle in my garage for another minute?

I am informed that a turbo timer interferes with the factory alarm, meaning you cannot set the alarm while the turbo timer is operational.
