First drive in a 996TT.
I just drove a 996TT for the first time this afternoon……WOW! What an incredible car! It was a 2003 6-Speed. Spinning through first and second in an AWD car was definitely cool. With casual driving to warm the car up it felt very similar to my 997, but when I finally got on it and the boost built up I said yeeeeeeehhaaaa! The car is definitely in a league of its own, and I would like to compliment you all on your great vehicle choice. Now I have a severe case of boost envy.
I know what you mean. After living happily with my 1996 993 Cab "forever car" I tried a used tt "just for fun."
Then all I could think about was how to I buy one of these? About a month later I had bought a stunning low mileage 2003TT and am now waiting for warmer weather to sell my cab.
Careful about spending time here - it's addictive.

Had the same experience myself. Came from a 98 C2S and "tried" a TT (An X50 no less). From that moment on I could not think of anything else until I secured my TT 2 weeks ago. It took me about 3 months to find the right one for me.
I came from a couple of modded 951 turbos and a C4 and each time I bought a new P-car I said this was a long term keeper. My wife just shakes her head (knows me too well) but after driving a couple of 996TT's I realized this car combines the best of my favorite P-cars. It has the rush of a turbo, easy modding, great handling, comfort and AWD. I can't imagine a more solid, better balanced car. Take your time and find the car for you, there are plenty out there. It took me about 4 months to find mine and it is better than I expected. Finally the long term keeper.

This is the longest I have ever owned a sports car going on 5 years. I was always selling what I had in a few years to upgrade to the next car. The tt is now modded to my liking and I don't plan on selling it. I will buy other sports cars in the future but they will join the 996 tt.
