giac vs upsolute

Just spoke with giac dealer and he stated that giac is going to reduce price for their chip significantly next week. Have been considering upsolute but like the idea of local dealer and switchable programs, including stock and valet. Any thoughts?

I think a lowered price would make alot of people that have been thinking about chipping there cars, go over the edge and do it.

Dealer is DynaSpot Racing, San Jose. They will let me know next week.

Since I'm burning 1 qt. oil every 400 miles, I'm going to wait to see if there is warranty issue. Have almost 2k miles now. Break-in period ended on Carmel Valley run.

Picture of red tt cab coming. Just had bumperettes painted. Still trying to figure out how to post pictures without having to trouble administrator.

Mine's an '02, but I didn't get over 400 miles/qt until 3000 miles, and then it was 600 miles/qt until 6000 miles.

Right now I'm ~ 1500 miles between quarts.

Depends how much lower. $500.00 is pretty damn hard to beat.

Btw...

Stephen...did you ever test both the GIAC and Upsolute programs? Someone had mentioned that they were going to send you an Upsolute ECU to compare/contrast with GIAC? Any word on that?

Upsolute dealers make $200 per ECU reprogram on the $500 charge . I wonder what the GIAC dealers make/made per reprogram ( pre -price cut ) on the $4K price ?

I'm a very happy Upsolute customer but have also heard great things about the GIAC product. I think most people will pay more to have an authorized local GIAC dealer/shop to install the performance upgrades and have the option for additional upgrades in case even more power is desired down the road. How much more $ is the question?! I'd be very interested to see GIAC's revised pricing when it becomes available.

The beauty of competition in the marketplace ...the consumer wins!
