Is a 997S faster than a stock 996TT?

I'll race you in the 996 first and then we can start hating the M3 guys again.
Then I'll race and beat you in the Z06 and then we can start hating the Vette guys again.
Then I'll race you in the CLS and beat you and then we can hate me... for being soooo F-ing badass!!!!!

In my experience the 996TT is Q/F than 997S
I've owned both...an '05 997S 6-speed manual and an '04 996TT 6-speed manual...able to directly compare my driving experiences...to me the 996TT (non-X50 equip) seemed much stronger than the 997S. The 997S did have 19" Porsche wheels, which I believe degraded the street handling charateristics, at least on the winding back roads of southeastern Penna.

-They list all pertinent details, such as; air temp, asphalt temp, road conditions, tire type, etc...
Porsche 911 Turbo (996) ---------------------------- 7.56 min
Porsche Carrera S (997) -------------------------------- 8.05 min

Either way, circuit or straight line, the 996tt is the faster, superior car.
