Porsche TT Test Drive... OMG.... near death experience... LOL

I got this from another forum that I am a member of, and I thought that it was a funny read. Basically it is the view of a C5 Z06 owner looking at purchasing a 996 TT.

I've got an 01 Z which I love, but my eyes have been wandering over to the Porsche camp lately... Twin Turbo is calling to me.....

So I trundle over to the local Porsche Dealership for kicks... and Mr. Sales MGR shows me an 02 TT Docter Owned (aren't they all Dr Owned LOL?)..... Anyway.. it's got 36K, clean, asking 58K...... nice clean silver TT with dark blue int....

So we go for a test drive...... and take note that I've been around many fast cars all my life, and I've raced Autocrossing and Dragracing with some high 11 sec cars..... so I don't usually get scared...

Well Today was different!!!

Mr. Sales MGR eases out into the feeder road.... and we bs about the car and he's letting it warm up (I suppose).... It's 34 deg today.... then he says "I REALLY LOVE TEST DRIVING THESE... .." and he gets this wild look in his eye...... I"m like no problem, I've ridden with the best and worst at high speeds...... Just NEVER in congested city traffic....

So he nails it and SWOOOOOSH those turbos just pin you back in the seat....... for ever.... boost!!! AHHH!..... and we're doing like 80 in the 35mph feeder.... OK no big deal... show over right?...... NOT.....
He grabs another gear, and SWOOSH...... 125mph on the feeder...... and cars are pulling out and we're weeving around trucks and busses........ at this point I'm just thinking we're going to either DIE in a firery German BLaze..... OR we'll be under the jail............ then he hits the u-turn under the interstate @ 80mph.... and it just sticks!!! and then we blow the red-yeild sign and hit 120 on the other feeder road......

I'm like.... Wow... I'd like my wife to see this car, but you can't drive ..... and he smiles.... and slows down a bit......

So now I'm at home on the couch deciding whether I should change my pants or take a sedative..!!! Holy Cow!!!

That baby loved the 34 deg weather..... but boy did he scare the dickens out of me!!!!

Thought you all might enjoy the performance moment (er uh movement)....
Damn I wish the wife would let me go ahead and get a TT now.

Meh, I sorta like that. Shows what the car is capable of in a way.

I went for a test drive in a BMW 335i, salesman was a younger guy and damn was he abusing it..but in a good way. Hit 100 in a 50/55, then whipped it around this big oval turnaround to show the DSC or whatever. then fast around another turn, then 80 and slammed the brakes. Once my shoulder didn't hurt anymore, he let me do all that too

...and I wasn't even in interested in buying it

Is cold weather good for the cooling system on the TT's? or bad?
