Over 200 cars and 30+ bikes joined together for a massive cruise down to Galveston Island. The even was organized just 3 weeks prior to the drive by Houston Peformance Driving (a local forum). The remarkable thing was that people of all ages with cars of all types mingled and enjoyed the scene. There were so many cars that the bridge to Galveston was jammed packed, so we all got out of our cars and hung out, talked cars and enjoyed the perfect weather. After invading the local restaurants, everyone gathered on Cherry Hill, a concrete embankment designed to protect against Hurricanes. People often drive on it, but the local police were a bit freaked out when 200+ cars landed all at once. Just after sunset, they carefully swept the hill clean without issuing a single ticket. That was fun!

 

Heard it was awesome. My brother ended up not going, which is good because his crank bolt pulley backed out!! eeek! I ended up waking up at about 1-2pm Had a long Saturday night.

 

Chris that was a blast and I love all those people on HPD ... it rocks!!!!!!!!

 

Too bad I had to prep my lectures on Sunday.

When is the next event?

 

The Blue Bonnet Cruise and the North Side Fun Run not sure of the dates though
