In the fastest of 5 run groups, we do not need to use hand signals (very often), and yes of course like most people I get passed. I really get tired
out if a car/driver of equal caliber is chasing and sometimes you have to let them by so you dont force yourself into a mistake.

Windows down is the rule though, due to safety/ease of extraction. The notable exception is running in the rain. Many organizations allow you to run windows up if it's dumping.

What's interesting is that during 30 minute sessions, the driver who eases up to allow a pass often times puts the passing guy back in the same situation later in the session, and he'll lift to allow a pass.

I need a big button on the dash so that I could press it to retract all of my mirrors so I could focus on my driving rather than the guy who is hounding me.

This is particularly noticable when passing in corners. I don't think I've ever seen someone try to point me by in a corner. You just pass.
Back to the topic. I really doubt the A/C can be efficient enough to cool down the charge air/fuel to make up the power it robs. Simple physics dictate that some energy is lost and heat is generated in the transfer process (and that happens twice in the example given). You would need 100% + efficiency for that to happen, and if you could achieve that, you would probably blow cold air into the intercooler air stream...
i guess i will have to try this though i'm quite sceptical. it would be a lot more efficient (re: more cooling power) to spray CO2 on the intercooler or the same fuel line. i have yet to hear of any evidence that the CO2 sprayer is worthwhile.
of course, water or meth injection would be the ultimate for cooling the intake charge - but i've beaten down that path w/o much success.
