In Joe's cool Drag day thread he made mention of a couple of motor's
blowing up (who had posted on his thread).
Who has blown their motor ??
I did not want to hijack Joe's thread so I started this one.

Having damaged engines in the past I can say it's not much fun. Condolences to anyone who has damaged their pride and joy.

I know of blown motors, head gaskets, cam problems, etc.. and it's not related to anyone tuner. If the driver does not respect the motor well then it doesnt matter who's stuff ur running... heck a mere miss shift will land u in trouble let alone 800 HP P cars.
I personally seen a blown motor with a tuners sticker from this board.
The local dealer said it had crazy overrevs... does that mean the tuner is at fault? I dont think so.

Mark you are exactly right, but the way Joe said it sounded like it was tuner error, or maybe my stupid interpretation!

We have "blown" a few motors up, what tuner hasnt? The limits must be tested. They have never "blown up" they just puke a bunch of coolant out the head gasket. If they actually "blew up" you can bet we would have video taped it as it would have been cool to see. We are actually testing failure rates on certain components on the engine that is in my car now. It is a stock motor with rods and head studs. I could go out and blow it up today if I wanted by over revving it, however we are trying to find the limits of certain components as well as longer term durability of some new things we are testing.

What do you mean? How do you respect a 700HP modded motor? Go easy on it? I don't get it. And I'm not being snotty. I'm genuinely confused.
