Put a deposit down today for the "next" Turbo

After seeing the pics of the 997 from Darren etc.. I called the dealer here in O-Town to put a deposit down and get on the list for the "New" Turbo. They stated that they were just informed this morning that Porsche will continue with the present 996TT body style while the new 997's are released. The new Turbos should be out around 2006....He was getting back with me to let me know where on the list I fell, but did say right near the top...

Going to order the new Turbo as well Rob. My NSX should be here in early 2005 so I figure I will be tired of that car by then. I have been asking the Porsche dealer about the new Turbo and they said they had no info. I guess I can put it on my list to call them tomorrow. What kind of money are they talking about to hold your spot

Enjoy the lack of torque.
Don't think the next gen Modena will have any torque issues...

Rob

I am #1 on the list for my dealer to get the new NSX. Should be a good looking car. Seen a few pictures and it looks pretty wild. Although a bit to ricer to me, but we will see. I hear they are bumping up the price to 140,000 and still keeping the VTEC 6. Personally I don't see how they are going to justify the price. I am waiting and seeing what happens. Figure I'll sell my place if I dont like the car.

Turbos come around every 8 years. Hey, even Tiff Needel says so. The next "turbo 911" will be in 2008. So unless your dealer will give you interest on your deposits, it doesn't make sense to leave one now.

The 997's will have a C2, C2s, C2/C2s cab. That is it. The 998's will have the awd, and turbos.

If it is only 1000 to 3000 dollars who cares what the interest on that is . Now if they want 10,000 dollars to hold until 2006; I may think about it. You obviously know your cars, why do you think Rob's dealer is telling him a different story than what you say.

So true Gary. I hate it when I know more about my car than the dealership.

Guys,

You could go in today and put down a deposit on the new Porsche 4door sedan if you wanted to... rumored but not confirmed. I had a BMW dealership offer me a spot on the list for the E46 M3 V8... rumored but never produced. The point is, dealerships will take your deposit money for any car that might be produced. Why not, you give them the use of your money to put your name on a list. So long as the deposit is minor and you can get your deposit back in full it should not be a big deal.
