Can anyone tell me what color Red this is? I know that it wasnt a standard color option for 2001, so that excludes the Boxter Red (which was more orange'ish). I've heard of a 'flamenco red' and 'arena red - but was that an interior color option?
If anyone knows and wants to share the love, thanks!

...also, is that carpet considered 'black'? it seems like the same color as cars i've seen with black on black interiors, but just wanted to check on that too.

Looks like Flamenco with Natural Grey carpet. Arena Red was an exterior color. The other "red" interior was Can Can, but it's a little brighter.

 

I could have sworn i saw it advertised as Boxter Red, but im not sure :?

 

Flamenco or Lipstick. Both exclusive, but available.

 

I have the catalog from 01 and 02 which shows boxter red, definitely not that... the boxter red is almost a dark terra cotta or something like that.

no joke, its called lipstick red...

 

Apparently this is lipstick red (grabbed from google) seems brighter:

 

Lipstick has a touch more orange, while Flamenco is a deep very bold read....darker slightly from Guards, for example, and a stunner against Slate or Seal.

I am looking at having the defroster CF piece fabbed as a one-off by the shop that is building my audi, but if that doesnt work i'll holler at you and i guess we will go the factory route (albeit god knows what that is going to end up costing :-))...i'll prolly hit you up for that black 3rd tail light here shortly too (i think i am going to have the red half of the main tails blackened, so along with the black turbo script i think it'll look pretty slick)

Yeah - i bought it used as a one owner car - the guy before me was in socal (santa monica i think). He paid a boat load for it i'm sure. I was thinking about ordering that document from porsche (heard its about $100 on here i think) that has all those details...anybody have any info on that?

Ive heard about Award - i have to get them to give my M some love. and thanks for the MA link, there are a few pieces i have to replace due to the factory stuff not looking 100% anymore (darn socal sun). I talked to Eric about a few, but the one that really sucks is that defroster surround and the only replacements i have seen replace the whole part due to the CF just being a small strip of raw/laquered CF that is just glued in place...but with this special order leather and custom stitching, that is proving to be more of a PITA than first expected.

 

it's truly an amazing looking interior. very nice!
