I am stiill agonizing over which turbo's to us. I feel the 30's would be better for the track and the 35's for the quarter. With a 9000 rpm 3.95L motor I believe the 30's would run out of breath above 7600 rpm's.
Am I wrong in my assumptions.
u just might be right..... Bobby know his Sh2t... u guy should talk...

Both shafts at the inboard spline.

Todd Z is probably doing twice that. And thats his gain. I also think that he probably is running out of gear and has to shift into 5th just b4 the 1/4 and we obviously do not... thats his loss...
So trying to compare the 2 runs between Todd Z and I are somewhat skewed in my opinion especially when trying to understand the guts of the 1/4 run... our shift points are way different.
even though we did Ok I still do not think GT35rs are optimal for the track. As a matter of fact I know that Bobby ( who has run 9s in his 993TT) has extensive knowledge and according to him a gt30r with a 76 mm compressor would be the the way to go as far as 1/4 times...

Jean hit it right on the head because the faster you travel at the 1/8mile you are entering the final 1/8 at a much higher speed and therefore don't have as much room for improvement because you are covering more ground faster without as much room for improvement if you entered the1/8 at 100mph.
Marski there are so many avenues for you to get more ET once you've nailed this setup. My thoughts follow (given your Evo I am sure you're on these already):
Your gearing is obviously all wrong for drag racing. You are in the bottom of 4th at the stripe when you want to be either at the top of 4th or top of 5th.
Your shifts are slow and the car is begging for a sequential tranny (ask Jean).
A puff of nitrous off the line will bring you into boost instantly and eliminate any lag.
Using a line locker on the line will allow you to stage with more confidence and bring the revs up into full stage. Not to mention make a decent burnout simple.
A two step will allow you to predetermine your launch RPMs and concentrate on nailing the light.
And finally the car is begging for slicks. Drag radials NO! Slicks YES!
I'd love to see you be the first 996TT in the world to run a 9 second pass!
