When you guys aswer his question you will have answered mine too. I wife picked up one a while back for me. We do need to know the actual weight of the car with driver to get "accurate" readings. When the track opens I will be getting my car weighed and will do some testing on the unit.

The difference in weight on an 01 is a hotly debated issue but it would appear to be incorrect.

I would think a performance shop that does suspension set ups would be able to weigh your car. Around here the have "public" scales where truckers get their loads weighed to avoid possible tickets. I am just going to wait and take my car to the drag strip to get the actual weight. Good luck and if you get the actual weight on your car please post it up.

How about finding a county dump....they usually have scales there to weigh how much junk you are throwing away. I once took my Audi with my garage door and they weighed the car before and then after I left and charged me like 5 cents a pound. Ended up paying $19 bucks to chuck the old door.

I used a gifted GTechProRR at my last two trackdays and it was pretty good to check out the lap times and chassis abilities. I marked where the highest spike in lateral-Gs was(easy to do when you're banging a curb once a lap), and then broke down the times after that. It was very good for that.
For street performance, acceleration times, 1/4mile, ect...I know of them to be quite close to much more expensive machinery but I didn't use it for that.
Bottom line, it's better for what 99% of people want it for... and cheaper than it should be. If you already own one, no need to run out and replace it with another, more expensive "toy". If you don't own one, go for the PBox first and splurge for the extra GPS antenna, so you don't need to mount the unit on your windshield and look like a clown.
Personally, for roadracing and autoxing I'm going for the Traqmate...the "non-toy", as it has accelerometers and GPS, and can log engine parameters...ie, datalogging. It can also be overlayed onto video.
always have fun,
TomK
