Do I think it's the safest thing one can do on the road? No. But I'd say it's safer than about 5 or 6 other things that people commonly do on the roads.

) but i'm far more focused than the proverbial soccer mom in their minivan yacking on the phone.phones are a far more dangerous thread to your average driver than street racers.

Never been raced, although that's about to change. It's quite funny though the few people this weekend who approached me about purchasing the car, wanted an 8 second time slip before they made an offer.

Not really looking to sell, but my magic number is 90K.

With the 3.4L it spools quite nice and makes good power down low as well. It's a little tricky out of the hole with teh 1600cc injectors but if you drive it like you stole it, it's a blast.

Wes, Bob was running around 850 rwhp that day through an automatic transmission with no NOS. He was mad that he brought the DR's and not the slicks as we're sure his car would have done low 4's and maybe high 3's on high boost and NOS. Oh well, it was a learning experience and LOTS of fun!

I actually did 5.0 sec with 2 shifts. yes power has alot to do with it but hooking up is more important... not to mention gearing... The trick is to transfer all that power to the ground otherwise its useless... thats why alot of HIGH HP supras/vipers dont liek 60 mph roll ons.. they prefer 100 or 120 mph + rolls ons...
Also, I think its important to compare apples to apples... so some cars can do a 60 to 130 with no shifts.. some with one and others with 2 shifts... and thats very important when it comes to 60 to 130s...
I can easily regear my car to do it with no shifts and be at 4.4... bingo. and I dont need 300 more RWHP.
just my opinion,

I saw that with Bobs car, I think a 6spd might be able to go quicker in this setup because of the brake boost/ gearing difference. With the right tire getting 1,100-1,250 to the ground shuold take off quite a few tenth if not more. IF not it'll be a fun ride finding out
I agree shifts are an important part. With a big turbo car you can likely brake boost in a higher gear and transfer the power all at one time at a different RPM than a fly-by.Same thing with nitrous, bringing the nitrous in at 55 will help get things spooled and down to the ground. All speculation, but that's the fun of running against the clock, you're always looking to get the most out of the time no matter what it takes. I don't see anyone re-gearing thier car for 60-130, but it's fun to find the ideal setup for your specific car at any given time.

Yes NOS will help.... we don't have that luxury in P cars...
