BA996TT is infamous around these parts
Exclamation I FINALLY got my car back from the dealer!!!!

As some of you know my 996TT broke down almost 1 MONTH ago, and the dealer kept saying it was the upgraded computer. I knew it was fuel related. I TOLD them to start there. 1st they said that it was gunk in the line, then the fuel filter, then it was the fuel pump, then the regulator, then the injectors and finally fuel rails.

WELL, last night I had to FAX over the Porsche parts manual showing how the fuel lines ran. Today I get a call that the car is fixed!!

I asked what the heck was wrong with it. The service advisor said that the mechanic that put the fuel pump in (VERY 1st thing they did), put the fuel lines back on BACKWARDS!!!!!

So now I have a NEW fuel pump, regualtor, fuel filter, injectors and fuel rails.

It never amazes me with some dealers.

That's scary. I don't think I would take my car there again.

I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. My first TT was a 02 that I bought from another dealer about 40 miles away. I LOVED the service department there, BUT my car was there for warranty work and the dealer accidently caught the car on FIRE!!! That car was totaled. This dealer is about 20 miles away, the next one is about 75 miles away. So I am screwed!!!! I have to just suck it up.

Time to move, then.

Although, if they destroy this one too, that means you can get a 997.

Glad you got your baby back. Going to a dealership makes me cringe every time.

Wow, so when you go the phone call did you think it was a bad joke?

You hit the nail on the head. I REALLY thought one of my buddies was messing around with me. Until the Fire Marshall called me and i saw it come up on caller ID, I thought it was a joke. No one was hurt and they gave me ALL my money back for the car and all my mods. I did not sue for anything. I just learned not to go back to that dealer...

Glad it is resolved...no question it is good to find a good dealer...no matter how far. I know the one I go to is the farthest of my 3 choices.
