Help identify this exhaust?

Here is my situation.
I have a 996tt with a aftermarket exhaust and headers. I purchasesd the car with them - unfortunately it was the one area that there was no record for. After numerous attempts - I can not find out who installed them or what they are. Long story. Otherwise total records and satisfaction with car. I am totally happy with the sound. However there is definitely some drone and resonance. Because I have no idea what the exaust is I have no relative criteria to judge the level of drone. If I could reduce the drone with a different aftermarket exhaust I would probably switch. If the level of drone I have is on the low side of aftermarket exhaust I would stay with what I have -as I prefer the sound over stock exhaust.

Does anyone recognize the exhaust? Thanks!

Actually it looks like FVDs. Most of the B&Bs did not have the mess flex pipe. They were solid.

Any feedback on how the FVD exhaust compares to Europipe? From what I have read I was thinking about Stage 2 quiet or loud? For me the biggest issue is resonance. I know that this has been debated before - but on my car at times the exhaust makes the car feel like slowly over time every things will get loose from the vibrations/resonance - which isn't comforting. Again I wouls still take my set up over stock - but I don't have a lot of comparables to other exhausts. ANy feedback. BTW I will be in Vegas in mid-April. If anyone has a Europipe in the area - I would greatly appreciate the chance to hear it on a 996tt.

Thanks for any feedback.

That is not an FVD exhaust, I agree with Sharky I believe its a B&B. FVD systems have always been modular which this one is not (cats are welded to the muffler) and also that flex thing is much smaller than the one we use on the FVD exhausts and I have no idea what that little tab thing is (in the first pic).
I would guess its B&B, buts its hard to tell from the photos.. I can tell you for sure its NOT FVD tho
Evan
PS- The headers I can't really tell...
Here is a pic of my FVD race muffler (which is still for sale everyone ). You can see how big the flex pipe is and the seperate cats:

Looks almost custom by the way the pipes are done. Look at the different welds. I saw the exhaust on Ebay also. Welds are very good, but iono looks kinda custom.

There are aftermarket exhausts on the market with no drone/resonance what so ever. So whatever exhaust you have is not on the "low side" since it has some drone to start with.

Europipe Stage II Quiet from what I hear is the way to go if you don't want any drone at all, but sounding slightly more aggressive than stock.

I would have to say that's a B+B lemans(an early one)because I had one. They had some problems with the early ones with the welds breaking......This one looks like they had a muffler shop try to fix it.

Ahh good point, explains why it does look like a custom one. Didn't know they had weld problems. Actually now that I think they had problems with the stuff for Vettes. My brother and I had 3 sets between us on our Vettes and luckly didn't have a problem, other then being to loud! LOL

Sorry, they have never used the flex pipe. Not a FS for sure.

Theses were posted on Ebay recently. They are both B&B systems for 996 Turbos. Some pictures to help you compare.

First thanks for all the feedback - I really thought I would get an immediate hit on what type of exhaust. The previous owner put on a full Porsche Carbon interior after purchase and a few other good options - again after original purchase - so I assumed the exhaust was probably a recognizable brand as well. Looks like that is not easily the case.

Given the drone/resonance issue I think I will move forward with the replacement. Unfortunately not easy to get a first hand experience on Europipe up here in Canada. Any suggestions? I will be in Vegas next month if anyone on here has one installed that lives in the area. I am debating between Europipe II Quiet or Loud?
