Ok guys this is the question. pelican parts listed two pumps left and right. I dont see how one pump can power the rediculous power these cars can make. I really believe this fact that there are two pumps. Someone please ease my mind. thanks

Im aware of only one inside the tank. normally thats the one that gets replaced and some tuners actually put another one in series or parallel depending on the HP output.

I am undergoing the Protomotive fuel system upgrade. As I understand it, the front pump (singular) is rebuilt and replaced with an upgraded version and a second pump is added at the rear of the car.

The explanation I have heard is this...the tank has a hump in it. The fuel sensor is in the second hump (not the lowest point in the tank). So what the computer does is calculate your gas mileage (not sure if it is current average or some other estimate) from the point at which the sensor reads no gas. So the bottom of the tank is simply an estimate...and by the sound of it a poor one.

There is only one pump and it is in the tank. The reason that the system will read goofy is the lines will get int he way of the sender every now and then. Or if the battery is unhooked with less than a half of tank.
