Installing XM and removing dash

I have installed many radios and other gadgets in many different cars. I, however, have never worked on a 911. I am going to install XM in my 03 Turbo. Yes, I know that the Gateway 500 is the best way to go, but I decided to just go the FM modulator route. If it is really bad, I can change it.

I am looking for detailed instructions on removing the dash, radio, radio surround, where to get power, how to run the antenna either out under the wipers, or next to the alarm light, etc. I know if I mess around, I would figure it out, but I would much rather know exactly how to remove everything b4 I start.

You can access the radio buy pulling on the outer switch panels. They simply pull out. Next will determine if you have PCM or a normal radio. If you have a normal DIN sized radio you need the Euro tool to pull the radio out. The antenna is right behind there.

The LED cover normally houses the GPS antenna so you should have room there. Simply pop the edge of it up and pull it out. The other suitable spot I use is the rain cover under the wipers. You can place it up on the side with the pollen filter. FWIW this is where all the new 997s are placing the GPS as well as the XM antenna.

If you have PCM let me know, I will walk you through that as well.

Should have said NO PCM. Where is the best place to get through the firewall? Also, do I need an adapter for the antenna?
